Guarding The Catch

Guarding the catch, Acrylic on board.

While traveling out west my wife two boys and I spotted this osprey on top of a telephone pole. The light was just beautiful and there was a hill of gravel nearby that I could climb to get a nice view. We pulled over and with my family watching I carefully climbed the hill and laid down. The bird posed nicely long enough for me to get some good photos. The background is composited from photos I had taken in the area and research of dramatic skies. I tried to keep the forest a conifer habitat that an osprey would likely be found in and added a nice little rainbow trout in its foot.
